PERSONAL DATA AND PRIVACY

Partnership Counsel is registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office (“ICO”) as a data controller for the personal data we hold and process through our Head of Chambers, Simon Jelf, whose registration number is Z7898513.

We are committed to maintaining the appropriate confidentiality, integrity and security of personal and other data that we hold and process by complying with both our legal and ethical obligations in respect of data protection and privacy. To that end we will not use personal data relating to clients and others which is processed on behalf of a member of Chambers for any other purpose than:

  1. in connection with the provision of advice/representation to clients and for their benefit;
  2. compliance with our own statutory or other legal obligations; and
  3. where necessary, for the furtherance of our own legitimate interests.

Personal data will not be shared with any third party apart from the relevant instructing solicitor or other instructing professional or otherwise than on express instructions or where to do so is required by law. No personal data will be transferred to third countries or to international organisations.

We will take appropriate technical measures to protect the personal data we hold, store or process against accidental or unlawful destruction, loss, alteration or unauthorised disclosure or access. All devices on which personal data is stored are password protected and all Word documents and PDFs are also encrypted. However, e-mails and similar electronic transmission of material sent by or to us cannot be guaranteed to be secure but attachments can be password protected on request.

In the event of any breach of security relating to your personal data, we will inform you at the earliest opportunity describing the nature of the breach, the possible consequences and the measures being taken to remedy the situation.
